Program description:
Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa.  It has one of the best climates in the world and English is the official language.  It has 10 National Parks, 12 Wildlife Reserves, and 14 Wildlife Sanctuaries.  Yellow Fever vaccinations are mandatory and you should take anti-malaria medication when you visit.

Ggolo is a small impoverished village located on the banks of Lake Victoria.  Participants must arrive in Entebbe International Airport (IATA: EBB) on November 21, 2015.  On this expedition,  participants will perform service in the following activities:
  • Working with local villagers to clean up rubbish and give an educational class on sanitation
  • Improve the local school
  • Organize and participate in sports activities with local village children
  • Work alongside villagers to improve the local government operated clinic, and then present information about nutrition, healthy living, and avoiding diseases
  • Visit HIV/AIDS patients in their homes and provide service to them

Expeditions include educational, environmental and cultural excursions during the evenings and weekends.  This will include a trip to Jinja to see the Source of the Nile and a visit to a crocodile farm.

Participants will stay in the village of Ggolo, Uganda.  This is a very poor village, and the accommodations are very basic.  Limited running water and electricity are available.

You may wish to extend your travel by adding one of the following tours (the cost of the tours is not included in the expedition fee):

  • Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Murchison Falls
  • Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
